Douglas Delfim Machado

Bio

I am Brazilian and have been living in NZ for over 20 years. I have worked in the IT industry and in the last years I have been working with compliance (health and safety, food safety, environmental). I started doing Pilates a long time ago, on and off (more off than on) and during Covid I was more dedicated doing it online with my aunty in Brazil, then going to the Pilates Centre (Hamilton). I started teaching my partner and friends what I had learned just by being a client in group classes and this gave me an insight and motivation to train myself and become an instructor. In 2024, I enrolled in the Comprehensive Pilates Course with Polestar Pilates NZ and worked through all the modules, completing it in November. I am not sure where this journey will take me, but I would like to work helping people to improve life through movement, help other students and instructors to develop and achieve their goals, and to connect people.

Teaching Location

I have trained at the Pilates Centre (Hamilton) with Vicky and Belinda. This is an awesome studio with great environment and people. I have been practicing at Polestar and at the Physio Pilates Studio, both are very supportive and have great tutors. I am still doing my teaching hours as a student at Polestar, not employed as an instructor at any studio yet.
